Piano Sonata Am, no 1 - Andante - Allegro - Adagio

Featured Replies

hi,

i only had time to listen to movement one and have to say i love it.

the melody was sad with hints of happy past, so beautiful.

anyway. i'm sorry to say i didn't like the opening. there wasn't enough a minor stuff to start a key going, the g sharp, although correct sounded very odd.

bar five onwards was better, only the first four were the real problem.

i really liked when the first theme came in, with the accel. though, we need an A. Tempo marking or we'll get faster for ever!

bar fortyfive, the staccato stuck out like a sore thumb. i wouldn't have notated it like that. perhaps a quaver and then a quaver rest? i know what you wanted to acheive but i feel that in live performance it may be taken the wrong way.

i would have really loved to see a change in the left hand accompaniment, i did it for 69 bars!

did the second subject start at 33? cause it should have been in the dominant.

bar 132 felt a lot like beethoven's development section in his pathetique sonata but i felt it beared no relevence to the original theme, and i don't think it really fitted.

the recapitulation was lovely, but would have liked a diferent accompaniment.

the ending i felt was rushed and had, again, no relevence, that semi-quaver semi-tone think, although drmatic, just doesn't work, save it for another piece.

wonderful work. just needs some tweeking.

Thanks for the critique and kind words! I changed the notation of the staccato fourth in bar 45, not done writing down dynamics yet though so I
