Rubato

Featured Replies

How does one declare that an ensemble should start playing in a regular tempo after the end of a rubato section?

Thanks.

"alla misura" means "in strict time". You could also say "senza rubato" or "a tempo".

Non rubato would do the trick. Also you could use alla misura, which means play strictly in time.

Edit: beaten to it.

Thanks a lot.

'Non rubato' looks the best one to me.

Tempo Primo also works.

Oh also shouldn't this thread go in advice and technique???
