Well, its obvious that you're the number one here dude. :) I know that you're are professional and you are making good themes (when last commented on my "Lord of the Castle" piece I read your infos on your webpage). Nobody can compete against a real orchestra anyway :) Its always amazes me that that a real orchestra how much sound better than EWQL or other Libraries. Very well done! :thumbsup:

Lord have mercy. This whole thing is a total mess. No, I'm really only kidding. I hear Williams in this, but I think there are some things you're doing to distinguish yourself from him as well that still sound absolutely spectacular. I'm thoroughly pleased with your theme. How long did it take for you to come up with it and what, might I ask, was your process for developing it? Did it just come to you, or did you apply one or more processes to create it? Just curious.

haha! man this is awesom e, maybe one of the best pieces ive ever heard on young composers . your orchestration was amazing , you must be a professional to write such a piece of music . good luck with ur upcoming compositions and post them here so that we can listen to them :)

People says "Williams", but to me its more kinda of Elfman, Zimmer, Scott and even Nicolas Hooper to me. what else could be said ?. Simply, amazing job.

Wow, haven't had a look at this thread for a while! Thanks alot for these encouraging words! I really appreciate all your kind words!

RCampomas - yeah actually I really appreciate Danny Elfman, he's a great composer and I love his quirky ideas! Of course, Williams always is a big inspiration and he settled so much of these things that shape filmmusic nowadays so of course, these guys inspired me alot.

The praise is well deserved, the choirs are used effectively and the balances are excellent. I like how you thin out the texture immediately after the active intro. Also nice use of violins as rhythm section. My favorite part was the the trill and gliss down to sul pont - quite unique and nice reference to the opening harp glisses. Now what was meant by 1/2 on the trill ? Is it a microtonal trill? That was the only notation which I did not understand.

Oh enjoyed the doits in the brass - very cool. A nice tie in to the running chromatic lines going up and down in winds as well as the harp glisses.

My only tiny reservation was the tympani on beat 1 and 4 before leading to the coda. I thought it a little heavy handed and wondered why not a little rhythmic displacements? Was it the time constraint or another reason?

I also enjoyed how it reminded me of Bernard Hermann - one of my favorite film composers.

Bravo and to be honest this would work well as a fun intro to a concert of contemporary orchestral works. Have you though of getting a few other composers together for such a concert?

Wow. Just wow, man. This is just bloody amazing. I really like the theme at about 1:20. I couldn't say anything more than what has already been said, but I just wanted to say I like it, no, I love it. Good stuff.

@composerorganist: Thanks for the detailed comments! That 1/2 means I wanted them to do a half step trill all the way through the gliss. I couldn't come up with anything clearer.

1 and 4 timpani before the coda? You mean the 1&3 accents when the "main theme" comes in? I found this neccessary to give the whole thing a bit of rhythmic "steadiness" over a few seconds and also felt like the sweeping theme needed to "flow" through for a bit without rhythmic "hiccups" all the time! :)

I have been asked for quite a few times whether it was ok to perform this piece in concert but I don't really feel this particular piece is something that belongs on a concert stage, I would need time to write something more cohesive but recently I have been busy with a ton of other projects and apart from my violin concerto I didn't write anything particularly for concert stage recently.
