April 21, 201015 yr An experimental ambient and hip-hopish song I put together about a year ago. It reminds me of when you're out back relaxing, looking at and enjoy the beautiful night sky and the stars. Put this on your ipod/mp3 player/whatever and try that out hehe :)Here it is: Night Sky
April 21, 201015 yr Your harmony is very good, the beat is ok, the bass too, actually everything sound good I will only point the structure of the piece, it sounds almost like incomplete, Everything is in one-shot, there's no clear theme or sections, development is needed here, the Major 7ths can be expanded into more keys, not just C-Eb-C-Eb probably an aditional segment of F-Ab-F-Ab introdusing new synth elements, to go back to the C-Eb, and finally create an easy progression to build the Ending which I think was almost none.. Feel free to go out of the C-Eb, ... what about something like this: CM7, EbM7, CM7, AbM7, FM7, AbM7 FM7, C...... end. Also I felt you file is a bit weak, you can amply the entire wave maybe 2 or 3 dB, check the Main Vol of your software, by the way what software did you use to creat this ?
April 22, 201015 yr I really loved the atmosphere you created with those evolving pads. Which software you used to create this? When the bass finally arrive it brings a great groove which my ears were waiting for. Nice one. This could be a great electronica/downtempo track with a few tweaks. One thing you can deffinitely improve is the drums. I loved the samples and the effects on them but I am talking about what they are doing instead. It feels a bit awkward in the beginning. I underestand what you were trying to do with it, but somehow I think it is not working. It distracted my whole attention away from all those beautifull pads. Maybe you can try this: Don't change the drums but put a low pass filter on them and get rid of the highs. You could also play with the filter while the piece progresses towards the second section (where the bass enters). This is just an idea you could try. But overall, I really dig the atmosphere you created.
