Miniature for Piano and Orchestra

Featured Replies

I wrote this during a 2-day creativity binge. It began as a study on Mozartean orchestral harmony, and clearly evolved from there. It's more of an early draft than a finished composition, but I'm stumped as to where to go from here.

Miniature for Piano and Orchestra

By the way, it stands alone as a finished composition, (even though it's an early draft) which is why I posted it as finished. However, I am interested in possibly lengthening it. The first step will probably be removing the Introduzione and the reprise. Or does anyone think I should keep it?

I enjoyed this quite a bit. Like I said, I really appreciate your piano writing. I think I would like to hear it lengthened because I could use a little bit more development (I didn't want it to finish- that's a good thing!)

The ideas here are very nice. The only comment really would be to spice up the orchestration just a tad bit. Thanks for sharing this!

This was interesting. You did well in keeping the listeners attention, but I fear that you didn't let your thoughts and themes fully come to life. I understand it was a miniature, but I feel you sold some ideas kinda short.

Thanks for your comments, guys! Any recommendations on spicing up the orchestration, woodruff?

That's kind of been the general concensus, John. Expansion and development seems to be my next goal. Haha. Much appreciated!
