Heroic Overture

Here is my first overture ever. As you can see, there are no opus numbers, this is because I got them all mixed up recently, but I will update them once I get them together. Enjoy and Please Comment.

Heroic Overture

Hey, you have fantastic chords in here! Great use of orchestration with those chords as well, it really added triumphant feelings to the piece. Also, I loved the middle section especially, it sounded very medieval, especially with the tambourine. One thing I would recommend is making some switches smoother. You often have random small bits of a new melody stuck in and it takes attention away from an otherwise great piece. Also, make sure there are dynamics every time an instrument comes in after a break. Great piece!

I don't have much to say, but I did feel as if the music alternated too abruptly and too often between tutti - small group of intruments - tutti etc.

I like it. I think it has a lot of potential. The main thing I would say is flesh it out some by developing those solo melodies you insert at various times. Those are cool and could serve as more than just transitions if you gave them a little more air time (and possibly mixed some of the main theme in with them). I think it'll be perfect at maybe about 6-8 minutes so that you have more time to develop some of your ideas. I also thought the Medieval part was really cool. Keep up the good work!
