It's not the real score, but it's a rough sketch. I converted the MIDI from Noteflight with MuseScore, so you'll have to excuse some of the messy notation.

Until you upload either a readable score or a recording that faithfully creates the instrument parts you've written for, I don't think an accurate review can be done of this piece. I don't want to say more than that for sharing an impression which is based on a misunderstanding of what I'm hearing. However I wil say that my first impression is it sounds texturally exciting and engaging, however it's on the simple side as far as harmony and thematic development are concerned. I think you've only got one underlying minor chord the entire time. Is this for marching band?

No, it's for a concert band. Because I'm not allowed to post external web links on this website, I can't really show you the real score unless the policy is reversed or vice versa.

I actually followed along with the score, I'm very proud of myself!

Anyways... I agree with Peter, I thought it was very engaging, you kept switching things up to add more intensity, and I never got bored, and it never changed completely - always staying along the same basic path which is awesome. I also like how you spread the melodies out to different instruments constantly, so good job on your use of the band!

Well, even with this reduced/abridged score it would help if there could be more than one measure per page, at least three preferrably four measures per page minimum. I'll humor you though and flesh out my initial review. Some will be repeats.

1-I appreciate the constant motion and the tasteful variance of action. The contrasting section is very effective. I get the impression that that was your primary goal and you succeeded.

2- When your A theme comes back, I was kinda disappointed when I heard the exact same thing again with nothing different about it.

3- There is only one harmony the entire time. There's no mystery to a G minor chord played for 3 minutes straight. The atmosphere is dark and rhythmic like you intended, but it doesn't go anywhere or really do anything. Don't take this the wrong way, but that makes the piece sound like a jam tune with a cruddy rhythm section and without the life that improvisation gives it.

3-The beaming is impractically difficult to read. That has to be fixed.

4-Since you went through the trouble of writing a trap set part, you need to write it so that it complements the band's melodies and the hits, for example the end. Lost opportunities like that make the drum set part boring and disappoints the audience.

5-I don't know whether or not you did this in your real score, so I'll mention it just in case. You need articulation and dynamics.

Thanks for sharing, man! I look forward to more of your stuff.

-Peter
