Trombone and piano! Not the best combination, purely my opinion. Might I suggest a string instrument instead? The viola is in the same register. Original. :)

It dragged on too long for my taste. I think the MIDI is not playing as rubato as you want it, so that could be the problem, but besides that there is little variation. There are countless options to do so, for example change harmonies (I like the V with minor 9th BTW ); swap the melody to the piano; choose another accompanimental figure for the piano some time (the arpeggios are getting boring after a while); you name it

Spice things up a little. Because it is a bit cheesy now, it is not as 'lacrimosa' as you maybe wanted.
