Cantabile for Strings

Piece for string orchestra I just finished writing. Took me about 2-3 weeks. IGNORE THE VIOLIN CADENZAS. The MIDI makes them sound bad. Also ignore the tempo markings (Quarter note = 80, etc.). They are there only to make Sibelius play them at the correct tempo.I'm getting this performed and recorded sometime in November.

This sound quite lovely. Indeed the midi is doing the piece no justice. Please reuploed the live recording. I'd love to hear that. I like the 10/8 section. The harmonies are bit more to my liking because its a bit more adventurous than the quartet movement you uploaded. Keep up!

I'd really appreciate a comment before someone just rates a 6/10. I can't do fix anything with a rating, but a comment would give me direction.

Don't worry about the rating, it was a good piece. Might have to do with the MIDI recording making it sound, well, really bad.

I'd like to hear this live, especially (like you said) the candenzas. Just one thing though: maybe remove the pizz in the bass at bars 49-50 and just have that whole line as a cadenza (maybe even without the strings underneath).

And why did the piece end on a major? =(
