You were (either consciously or unconsciously) inspired very heavily by amazing grace in this one, am I right?

I must admit I did not find this a very thrilling piece. Was it meant as a practise in writing something easy in a musical sense (without much elaboration in harmony and a pretty basic melody figure)?
