Symphony

Hallo music friends,I present the 1st movement of the g-minor symphony, about 12 min. long. I hope you will like it.

I suppose this is under construction ?

Is this your first Symphony ?

I feel this with many short motifs, but very few larger ones, try to expand a little more the ideas, try to construct larger phrases and lines.

The dialog between instruments is good, it would only be better with the larger phrases I mention.

I know you manage a very classical style, but a little of more percussions may be good, percussions are not only for loud climaxes. The stronger part begins at 8:00 is good, it can be larger too and present more Brass, so then go to the end of the movement.

I wish to listen the other movements to understand your symphony much better.

If you present the score is good :)

I like your first movement; it clearly shows that you know how to construct themes out of small fragments (in this case, of scales that ascend and descend by thirds and fourths). I found the movement dies down abruptly long before the expected symmetry of sonata form is achieved. I hope that the other three movements can explain the reason for this. Perhaps a second-movement scherzo based on the pizzicato passages in this movement?

Would it be possible to upload a score? It is rather difficult to give useful feedback without a score-- especially for a large scale work such as a 12-minute symphonic movement.
