Grand piano /upright mods

Featured Replies

Hi there,

I am new here, I just wondered has any one being thru the same experimental stage as I do.

I have been playing and conservatorium more than 30 years(6 years in cons.). I do performing on classical /story on charity basis not a traditional concert pianest.

I did this mod 15 years ago and still up to currnet date tried on my own children).

I add 16grams of lead weight to each key. The aim to strenghtening the finger. When comes to the stage-the concert grand-which is a lighter touch. Its a bit like "weight trainning/resistance traininig on piano.

Up to date, I have no regret at all. In old days, when I "played" an unknown heavier touch keys my finger /hands will worn out quicker. Now days, I hardly encountered any problem. Try play the revolutionary study in full speed-concert speed

I did the same trial(same grand) trained my own child since 5. And it seemed working......

Is there some one have done the similar experiment/mod.please let me know your opinion and any critics...

Thanks
