Mystic Sea

Featured Replies

This was my very first original tune. It's got tons of revamping's and such even one in the works now heh. It's for a water type area featuring a foe under the name of Mizu Bubble (Water Bubble) It's a short loop that loops back into itself, and is for a more stage that scrolls as you move about the water landscapes.

Very nice. Lots of wild patterns working together here to create a feeling of chaotic tension. The way it flows seems a little aimless and unpredictable. That's something I've heard in your other works too. Its like the chord progressions don't really have a lot of resolution, it just flows on in different directions and pulls melody with it. Its not a complaint though. It just sounds like your unique style of composing. Overall its another really good piece. Great work, man!

Thanks a lot^^ yeah that's what I take from my stuff as well, never really hangs to one thing a lot, I guess the way I see music when I make it is, if it's to straight forward without a lot of twist a turns at points. It becomes boring to me heh. Glad you enjoyed this though and like how my style is playing out more^^

Very... different to what I'm used to hearing.

It took some time to grow on me, but after listening to it a few times I began to rather enjoy it. Like someone else pointed out it's very unpredictable (a good thing, really; it works very well with the piece). There's this sort of tension in the piece that really gets to me-- a some sort of feeling that something's going on that I don't quite understand, but at the same time draws me toward that thing I don't know what is.

I like it, though. It flows really well, is exciting and not too repetitive although I imagine that having this play over and over again in a loop for a long time could cause some serious headache. It'd be fun to listen to while fighting this foe "Mizu Bubble", but if one began struggling against it & kept failing it might set off some people.

Then again I suppose that's true for all music in a sense >_>

Heh thanks, yeah my music kind of does that. After a bit it'll grow on you some. I find my style really different from most seeing it's a bit all over and such, but again I'm glad you enjoyed it to some extent. I have a boss version of this which basically takes off the main course and makes it up more chaotic in areas, guess I'll upload it for some views and such. But yeah I admit, most all games suffer from that, Star Ocean 3 and 4 having those long dungeons made it all more irritating to get through because of the re occurring catchy but irritating music you had to sit through again and again just to finally complete that puzzle or beat that boss heh.

Hello,

I think it's really different and interesting in its own way. But I was waiting for a breakdown...yes, I think that's what it's missing in this song in my opinion, a nice breakdown with more conventional notes, it would remove the repetitive problem on a long term listening.

Nice work tho keep it up:)

Thanks again I'll work at the repeating, thing is, I never want my tunes to change up so much that well, people would loose the tune all together, I find so many have that problem at times and to me it kind of well falls apart. Heh but I will try adding more verses to things, but yeah I want to try and make sure it stays connected and more to the mood of the song without messing it up  Thanks again though, I'll keep at it^^

For some reason it makes me think of Megaman... Like the others said, it has a tense feeling to it that is pretty interesting. I like the light chorus sounds in the background, it adds that 'mystic' feel to it. About those arpeggiator like sounds, did you make that or was it a preset you used? 10 bonus points if you made it yourself! <img src="http://network.youngcomposers.com/elgg/ipb/public/style_emoticons/default/laugh.gif" alt="" />

My only problem with it is that it never gets anywhere really, it keeps on the same speed and same volume all the time, a tune never comes out. I was hoping there would be a quieter part where a piano would come in, but one never did. :(

Here's a good example of a song that alternates between a techno thing like you have and piano leads. Fix'd

Hmm that link isn't working, but I have been thinking of adding some new points to this now, a piano sounds really good now. And thanks I'm glad it sounds like something out of Mega Man, that happens to be one of my all time favorite game series. Also glad you got the mystical feel too. And yeah sadly the arpeggiator like sounds were a preset I used, but to get it to work out that way and sound as it did, took some tuning and such.

So I guess it's half work on my side heh. But no worries I see now that perhaps this song requires some extra tweaks here and there as perhaps an extra verse which brings out the main melody pretty well or something that flows back into it, to make it feel more connected as to say. If you get that link working I'd be happy to check that out as an example.^^ I've made so many retakes of this song so, any new things to make it sound even better are welcomed, I just don't want it going too out there lol

Hey thanks a lot, this really helped me heh, that's a nice tune by the way. Still have yet to play that game. But this is something I threw together of the new take of it. Carries a piano variation which after wraps back to the main course again, though heh who knows when I'll really be done with this song. You guys can check it out here. I've also upped the drums and changed up some instruments.

Hello,

So, yeah! Nice, you did try some things out :)

Hmm...The intro is nice, the first drum roll is a great intro to your verse...but...you use the same drum roll to introduce each new thing and it becomes annoying. Try some variety, like 2 instrumenta who respond to each other.

The sound of your bass could be more boomy and less high in my opinion.

And you tried a breakdown, sweet!:) It's a nice first attempt, but, take that in a constructive way, you will need a little bit of musical theory studying to put a nice breakdown. Learn your scale major and minor.

http://www.lalecondepiano.com/astuces/liste-acc-test76.htm

Choose ''gamme majeur'' and on the left you can choose the note of the scale

Try to play some chords between those notes, and do the same thing with the ''Gamme mineur''

I wish you good luck, there's potential in your music, you just need practice.

Thanks a lot^^ alright I'll work at it then. The site seems like it'll help me out greatly! And I'll work around the drums make them sound less repetitive and such and I'll look into making a more boomy sounding bass. I agree that could really punch up the flavor in areas, and turn down the volume a bit heh. Glad you liked my breakdown some though, but with practice it'll come out even better. lol thus more work on this tune begins.
