Double String Orchestra I

Featured Replies

Double String orchestra and ? Vibraphone ?

Is it Violin solo or just the sounds of Violin solo playing section ?

Generally speaking, I can say I like this, I would change some things but I'm not you : D

very nice.

Hi,

First of all, I would never classify this as 'mid 20th to present' music. It sounds much older than that, with actually quite a few Baroque elements in (the ostinati, the harmonic progression, the trills, etc).

I won't even get into the production of the work, since it appears that you used whatever was available and made ltitle effort (or you simply didn't have any means).

The orchestration appears to be slightly weird and rather 'not taking the opportunities presented to you;. You mention "Double String Orchestra", while I hear various percussion inside (including timpani at some point!). It simply is weird. With a string orchestra you can do marvelous stuff, let alone with 2 (double) string orchestras!

I think that your ideas are the strong point of this work, but it takes more than just having ideas and putting them together to make a 'solid' work of music, I'm afraid.

I hope I haven't dissapointed you, but one needs honesty in order to progress!

Best of luck and thanks for sharing your work.
