Paradise Lost

Featured Replies

Eric Whitacre (awesome choral composer, trained by John Corigliano) has written an opera adaptation of Paradise Lost.

Paradise Lost: Opera Electronica

It's kind of amazing looking, and the lead soprano is incredible.

Yeah... I bought a couple of the guy's scores. He's a guy to watch for sure.

I almost went to the debut of Paradise Lost. Almost.

Why almost?

Shame.

Whitacre has become one of the world's top Choral writers. The man has got talent.

BTW- Paradise lost has been released in full as a demo on his facebook fan page.

The music is really cool. Every once in a while the lyrics bother me by how simplistic they are, but the music supporting it is always inventive and original. It definitely deserves a listen.

It's so odd that Eric Whitacre actually started out in a techno punk band in high school... it wasn't until college that he decided to become a "Classical" composer. It's nice to see that he managed to find a way to embrace his roots while creating something totally new and exciting.

Eric Whitacre = Love
