I pose this not as a question, but as the title to an article I recently finished on the topic that might be of interest to people here. I take a look at the instrumentation and musical ideas of cinema horror music and break them down. I'd be interested in any additional thoughts people have on the topic.

As a huge fan of horror movies, thank you for writing this article. It was insightful to me as I'd never been able to pinpoint exactly why horror soundtracks work the way that they do. And I very much enjoyed the two songs you posted in this article, is there any way to download them or do you have them available for purchase? Love the "Chamber of Severed Heads" track!
