Is this better?

Well, you started out OK, but before the end of the second entrance you lost your way.

Tell you what: for right now, maybe don't worry about whether what you write constitutes a "real" or "proper" fugue. Just play with the subjects and have a good time with them, which seems to be what you're doing anyway and enjoying. You'll learn a lot about composition in general that way.

Now, if you really want to learn what a real fugue is and how to write one, you might start by taking a look at my thread "A Crash-Course In Writing Fugues" http://www.youngcomposers.com/t3239/a-crash-course-in-writing-fugues/ in Advice and Techniques.

This looked like a really interesting challenge, so I gave it a go. I tried using the D Major theme (subject 3).

I'd really like some feedback, and advice on what I could improve on (development section is definitely a bit wierd:P)

Good to see this thread is still going after all these years. I'm wondering why my files aren't present anymore, though, hmm.

Good to be back.
