Jewish Dance (a short piece for orchestra)

Featured Replies

Hello,

I'd like to humbly ask for a brief feedback on this piece. I composed this for my school orchestra couple of months ago, but we weren't able to play it (guess why), so I'd like to at least post it here. There's pretty much nothing to add, it is rather a light piece and the rest You can judge by the name. I had this idea of starting in 6/4 time signature and then transit to 4/4, but it might have come out a bit peculiarly. I hope it is not too repetitive sometimes.

This definitely has the character of a Jewish dance!  I can imagine them hopping in a circle LoL.  I think you use some unusual harmonies in certain places and it sounds perfectly appropriate for the character of the piece.  Nice job and thanks for sharing!  Hopefully your school orchestra can perform this after everyone gets their vaccine later this year!

Nice piece! The bars around the 1 minute 30 seconds mark made me smile, some idiomatic textures here that makes me think the piece is well named! I struggled to find the audio listenable - overall it came off as quite 'noisy' - but it'll sound good live I have no doubt. Thanks for posting
