Made this for a friend. Hope you enjoy. Let me know what you think. Thinking about a small change in the pianopart around 2:02-2:06.

nice, i like this piece. maybe a little more variety on the piano would be nice, but I understand what you want to do here. I hope your friend liked it.

Thank you for your compliments. My friend liked it. I can understand you desire more variety. There are exactly subtle differences but maybe these aren't very clear amidst of the greater things which are going on. This often ends up being my struggle: how do I make subtle yet profound changes? I desire simplicity yet it isn't easy to 'get in'. I don't want it to sound minimal in the end, this feels too simpleminded at times. So I try to carve out my own way. If you have advice to give... 😉

It has a lovely "American Shaker Melody " feel to it.  I do like the piano part with it.  It is an interesting and lovely work. I personally love such melodic lines and harmonies.  I would like to add - it would be wonderful as a soundtrack for a movie scene ... I can just picture the setting in my mind - filled with wonder and contentment.  It is a selection that yearns to be orchestrated and developed.

I love shaker melodies! I grew up in a similar religious group (similar in the style of music). I didn't thought yet of orchestration but since one of my goals is to become better in orchestration this might fit well as an excercise. Sorry for the late reply but thanks for your comment! I think it is great when someone hears an influence from what musicologists call the 'deep structure' of music.
