Youth Composition Competition, special 10th Year - due Feb. 2023

Featured Replies

This is the 10th year for MusicTeacherGifts.com (aka ViolettesbyBecky), my little company, to hold a youth composition competition. Our amazing volunteer judges this year are Daniel Felsenfeld, Jennifer Jolley, Soomin Kim, Maestro Lucas Richman, Giovanni Piacentini and Schwendinger. They will provide feedback to all students and select winners. Read about them at the link provided below - remember to scroll down.)

There will be 3 age groups 10 – 14, 15-16 and 17-18 (on Feb. 14, 2023). Register now, and send composition recording and score PDF by Feb. 14, 2023. (The age divisions are based on previous year entries. If age ranges are significantly different, I may adjust the age divisions or even add a division.)

We have increased prize awards for this 10th year. Read more about competition and apply at this link. Make sure to scroll down to read about the competition.

First prizes are: seniors, $500, ages 15-16, $200 and under 15, $100.

Sincerely,

Becky Chaffee

Hi, Just enquiring about the Young Composers' Competition.  I have a student who is a keen composer & I'm looking for avenues for him to explore his skill & be judged externally.  Many thanks, Ruth de la Mare
