What Is A Reasonable Price For Online Courses?

Featured Replies

On another forum, a bit of a debate is presently raging over the cost of a particular brand of online music courses.

Some of their offerings go for about $600 USD. Some argue this is elitist, because especially in the present economies in the world, it will make such educational tools unaffordable to the masses and there are courses or even free resources out there which cost far less and offer similar content.

What do you think, and what is the most you would be willing to pay for an online music course?

My opinion:

I would agree that these prices are completely insane and although I don't really feel the need to take many music lessons after having devoted all of my teenage years and most of my 20s to learning about music, the most I have dropped was $60 USD on a one-month subscription to Scoreclub, which is a fantastic resource. I honestly don't think I'd pay over $200 for any online course on music, certainly not when something like ScoreClub or even scores to study for free on YouTube exist.

And these courses have very little "overhead" costs to run and they exist in infinite stock.
