After A Period Of Silence

Featured Replies

What I often find frustrating when I compose is that I cannot seem to be able to convey the emotions that I want to. Regardless of how much I try, I never seem able to make it clear what I'm trying to do. This piece came after a series of frustrating experiences, and I just gave up on trying to give it some meaning. I initially tried to give it some structure, some balance, some cohesion, but I couldn't; and so, I didn't.

Maybe one day, but not today. Today, I couldn't.

Just keep going and it's OK to fail in a piece! I always believe I'm writing trash and bullshoot even later I myself and others find it great. Sometimes your frustration doesn't undermine your product at all! What you need is time to change your mind and mindset of the piece! Just treat it as a kind of caprice or prelude or bagatelle or and you may think it a better piece! For my personal experience I always have unrefined ideas first then later polish them and glue them together, and sometimes it can take me weeks' and months' time to do so! Keep trying, and if you really can't, just stop it and write another one or rest! You can see in my About Me section that how many pieces do I abandon or "in progress". Don't be too frustrated!💪
