Spanish Old Songs: Sevilla's Lullaby for soprano and strings

Featured Replies

This is one of a collection of folklorical spanish song, originally composed by Garcia Lorca for singer and piano. A very short piece which is meant to be repeated with different lyrics. I will later upload the rest of the pieces.

Hi @Samuel_vangogh,

I love your usage of pizzicato as it reminds me of flamenco! No doubt @Omicronrg9 always love pizz. sections!

Just one thing, I am not sure whether slurs are needed for the pizz. cello as I think it's for indicating one bow action esp. in legato playing?

Thanks for sharing!

The piece is very enjoyable indeed, and not only because of that. I do get much enjoyment when I listen to such clear examples of typical Spanish harmonic progressions.

Thank you for sharing, Samuel.

Kind regards,
Daniel–Ømicrón.

Well it is not correct to write legatos and that point thing (don't know thr name in English 😭) bit I wanted to differenciate the articulation, if i had wrote no slurs everything should be played equally. Also, cello bow indicators shouldn't be placed there, i think i may forgot to remove them.

Yes! So i'm from the south of spain and i hear flamenco almost everywhere! If you and @Omicronrg9 want to hear more examples I really ask you to hear: "danzas gitanas" from Turina and "el amor brujo" from Manuel de Falla
