June 15, 20232 yr Started this piece a while ago, trying to mimic a funeral march fit for a monarch, but I feel like it went a little off the rails at the end. I would just like some feedback on the overall flow of the song, and maybe suggestions on the ending. Should it end with a more optimistic tone or just continue the tone of the beginning? thanks so much in advance
June 18, 20232 yr Hi @Hc123, I think your ending here is quite optimistic! You have a D aeolian at the beginning but your ending is in G major. I think the modulation in 1:34 is too abrupt tho. You can develop more the D minor section, then modulate through D major to G major. Henry
