Lumiére Waltz

Recommended Posts

A brand new composition.

A Waltz!

French - Greek - Austria - German styles inspired! (I think!)

Although it starts as a chamber music, it ends with a large ensemble.

I imagined it as a small group playing the accordions in a Parisian street, and then slowly others join the group.

I tried adding some more variations following the tips of some members of the forum and I tried to keep the duration shorter than usual.

What do you guys think?

Hi @Nikolaos Dimopoulos,

The piece gives me a folkore feeling with the heterphonic texture throughout.

The accordian passages are festive and funny. I like that 1:00 variation with good contrast of the texture. The texture before it is thick with those accordions and now it's much thinner. What is the instrument here?

I will say I would want even more contrast here. After 2:53 the tempo is quicker and the key is modulated from F major to G major but not many things are changing.  You modulate one last in 5:15 to A major, but the overall mood is setting is not quite changing. Of course it will be great enough with the contrast above since this is more like incidental festive music which celebrates some events.

Hi Henry and thank you for your comment! The instrument I use is a combination of two presets of the Zenith APS Vsti.
