Piano Quartet in D: II Andante OH MY GOD!!!!! I am in HEAVEN!!!!!!!!!

HEAVEN!!!!!

I Just upgraded to FINALE 27.3, as I am gearing up for a 10  minute piano quartet allegro and I needed more features --LIKE TREMOLO!!!---  ECT...  It's nice.

   EVEN BETTER?

The "ORCHESTRAL TOOLS SOLO STRINGS" VST2 plays on it!!!!!    THEY SOUND  ******AMAZING***   i AM IN HEAVEN.

My piece sounds like a Piano Quartet!!!   I am looking forward to a string quartet and I am formulating a Concerto de Camera after that!     This will make it POP.

Print Music (Finale's el cheapo veriosn) wouldn't play it, and I was out the money and dejected.

The solo strings (violin, viola, cello, NO bass) were about $150 us dollars.   Not as bad at all as some, and it pretty much played as you hear it out of the "box:

Strings are so hard to capture in samples--they did a fine job.  Very dry, but that can be manipulated.

The balance isn't right and I need to learn a few things but....OH MY GOD!!!!

[uploaded a rebalanced mp3, toned down piano reverb to match strings, got issue with cello doublings resolved, lost a little  clarity with shirt note runs but its the better trade off, adjusted dynamic markings. Trying to fix it)

  Have a Listen!

UPDATE:

  Well, good news bad news.

Bad news:  Currently can't get the violin or cello double stops to work.  Working with the not so great tech support for Orchestral tools.  Hopefully it gets resolved.

The good news: I restored the proper key switching, and the sound is great.    The viola can doublestop, because it appear to use a specific type of legato keyswitch that allows, it.  The  thing will be to detrmine if this is something that can be altered for the cello and vioin.

That said, the sound is so much better than  Garritan solo, and double stop are generally 5% or less of compositions, that this is usable as a tool.  I just have ot be careful not to compose to these limitations, and use it as VSTS should be used--and aid.

(Of course, I could resort to the desperation of using another staff/bank to write the double stops!  )

  Hopefully, it can get fixed.

Wanted to be up front before somebody shelled out $120...

Heres a new rendering with the full glory...The cello was really brought out.  Nice.

  crushed.

I made an "obstacle course" for OT solo strings and it was a disaster.   Expressions in the score aren't executed.

Unless I want to spend dozens of hours fiddling with keyswitches in finale every time, this software will NOT WORK.

Made me appreciate how much is going on in th ebackground to give us these sounds, trills, pizzicato....

Too bad.  Apparently DAWS get all this fancy software.
