This is a link to a video that introduces me to the Internet proper, my story as a musician.

But if you don't want to watch that, I'll give you a little synopsis here:

I'm Cash. Late 20's, she/they, I live in Charleston, SC- my day job is running a small not for profit music school, where I direct affordable and accessible programs in violin, viola, piano, cello, and voice. I've been teaching for over a decade, playing violin for a quarter century, and hold degrees in music composition (BMus) and mathematics (BA), and a post baccalaureate certificate in violin performance.

I've wanted to write music since I was tiny. I realized I wanted to write specifically musical theatre in high school, focused on that in college... Then gave up after graduation. Instead, I pursued violin. When I was hit by a car a few weeks before a major audition, suffering a TBI, and ruining any chance I had at that future. This isn't mentioned in the video, but it also triggered dystonia in my neck, so I physically can't reliably perform anymore. It's been two years now, and I'm still struggling with the consequences of that driver's negligence.

While heavily concussed, I decided to revisit an idea that my dad had pitched when I was still in school; the story of the summer of 1816 at the Villa Diodati, when Lord Byron challenged several of his peers to compose their own ghost stories, resulting in Mary Shelley creating Frankenstein. Over the course of several months that I barely remember, I wrote the whole thing. It was workshopped, and now, it's in production purgatory.

But it unlocked something in me- I'm finally ready to write again, and boy am I excited about it! I'm sharing my journey writing this next show on YouTube in a regular series, from its conception (I invite my viewers to vote on their choice) to its production. I am also trying to establish a support network through Patreon, where folks can see more into all of the behind the scenes details of my process.

I'm happy to join this forum, and I hope to learn from you all, and maybe someone here can learn from me. I'm a teacher at heart, so opportunities for education are my favorite things.

Looking forward to getting to know you all!

Cash
