looking for feedback on a work of mine

Recommended Posts

my performance of the piece isn't perfect yet, but I hope it's not that big a deal, looking forward to hearing your opinions 🙂

You've captured great emotion in this! Love the dark tones within. And a sense of urgency amidst chaos...but I also sense a bit of resolution in a weird way. Could easily see some lyrics over this! Don't know if you plan to add any, but it could make a great villain song. (I've never written lyrics, but always thought it could be fun!)

Fantastic piece! I love melodically led pieces and this is for sure one. I can see this perfectly as a main theme for a given character, perhaps someone dark but not evil. Overall I loved the song! The only thing I think i would change is maybe add a section where the piece takes a break from the chords you used. Maybe by adding a sudden major chord where there should be a minor (specifically the key in which the song is in) and changing the key to that major and its relative minor can really trick the listener and give them a really nice and exciting surprise! Of course if you’d rather keep it the way it is that’s still ok. Great job! Keep up the good work!

Thank you, funny enough it started as two separate songs with a similar chord progression but I felt it could be more interesting as a piano piece

Thanks for the idea! I'll play around with it and see how it goes

This is not a criticism of the music because I find it really charming, but it is of the notation. You clearly played it with a lot control, so why not notate the dynamics, voicing, phrasing, expressions that is apparent in your recording into the score?
