May 10, 2025May 10 Hi all. Just wanted to share this experimental composition I made some time ago in GarageBand. Was trying to get away from any idea of structure or form, and make something that sounds quite random. It does have an ostinato, to give the listener something to latch onto; but is otherwise very free. It's probably garbage, but I thought I'd post it anyway.

LoL it's no garbage at all, only Filmscore's "improvements" towards other members' work qualify with this word! I think it's a good new music honestly. It will make good background music in a bookstore to me. On 5/11/2025 at 12:37 AM, Alex Weidmann said: sounds quite random. Does it sound more random than my 3rd Piano Sonata movement, mov 1 or 2 which are famous for their randomness LoL?? Thx for sharing! Henry
June 21, 2025Jun 21 Hi @Alex Weidmann! I really love the tubular-bell/chimes in the latter half of the piece. Are you using microtones at all in this? The bells sound kinda cool and a bit out of tune. Thanks for sharing!
June 21, 2025Jun 21 Author Hi Peter, Thanks for listening! For the bells, I was using a preset called Old Memories on GarageBand's Sun Glitters Pad. There's definitely some detuning at work; but I didn't have control over it as such. The work uses three different presets on this pad; but I don't think I used any automation between presets as the music evolved. Instead I just put them on different tracks. If I was remaking it now, I think I would use some automation to make it even more weird!
