I know the jazz faculty, but they're also fantastic schools of music, period.: Berklee New England Conservatory (Bob Brookmeyer! Ken Schaphorst!) The New School Manhattan School of Music Eastman (Bill Dobbins!) ...just a few of the biggies. Don't limit your scope to just well-known school though, find a professor and environment that works for you.

December 5, 200619 yr No, really, it is. Certainly not THE best, but one of. I know for a fact it has the world's best harp program, and until the professor died, the foremost oboe program. Its composition program is extremely well-known in New Music circles, and its graduates are all very successful.
