Layne Posted Saturday at 12:51 AM Posted Saturday at 12:51 AM Hi all! It's officially October, which means it's time for some spooky songs. Almost each year I challenge myself to make a new arrangement of John Carpenter's classic theme from Halloween. It's always been one of my absolute favorite horror films, so it's truly a great joy to jump into this main theme and make it my own in composing. Would love to hear some feedback! I have tried a few new things in this song as I continue to experiment with techniques. I used mostly Native Instruments - Symphony Series, with support from Spitfire Audio's Originals Cinematic Soft Piano. Hope you enjoy the listen! Quote
Omicronrg9 Posted 1 hour ago Posted 1 hour ago Very cool arrangement! Do you happen to have the score? Something's a bit subpar in terms of sound, not sure if it's the brass? I think the strings sound pretty nice and the tutti sections sound very nice as well, but at the very beginning it sounded a bit, yeah, subpar in comparison. Perhaps the passages with less instruments are to blame as they are "more revealling". In any case and since I do not know your background or your past works, what are these new things you tried? Are they related more to sound production? Or they're orchestration techniques you learnt? Just out of curiosity. Kind regards, Daniel. 1 Quote
