Just have to fill in the development; enough for now!  Especially with Noteflight's enharmonic errors when transposing!

I have a melodic sketch of the A section of the second movement, a sort of nocturne in 6/8, with more Mahler influences than Chopin! I'll post it when I get a bit more filled in.

The middle section, one could call it a "Trio," is the next thing to tackle. All I know is that the melody will be a rhythmically disguised version of the first three measures, the intro. I'll get to it shortly, but sometimes it's better after finishing a section of a piece to let things ferment for a while. The great secret about writing music, on paper or with software, is that most composers, past or present, just make it up as they go along!

3/28 I'll go on with the second movement within a few days, I think, but this many views in so short a time makes me think I should take my time...

All I wanted to do was to change a couple of passages in octaves to double octaves: they sound like ice to me; great piano sonority-unconscious overtones, and it turned into a nightmare. Yeah, I wrote this in fourteen hours, the slowest written first movement of a piano sonata in history! (LOL), but editing in this thing? Whoever designed the software knew a bit of music theory, but did not know it well. It likes to change sharps to flats (hey; F# Major and Gb Major are the same key, right?) and substitute bass clefs for treble clefs later in the piece, where you can't even see what the program is doing! Yes; I just wanted to change bass clef to treble clef for one sixteenth note-that's how Beethoven would have done it, right? Gott im Himmel, was ist Dass? Now I get to listen to it Noch einmal, (spell check suggested Enema-it would indeed be capitalized auf Deutsch) to see if I caught all of the murderings, or if I have to rewrite passages from memory-don't ask: I don't have time to learn another music notation software.

Oh yeah; randomly delete ONE MEASURE. I may have to wait until morning; oh wait: SOMEONE saved a new copy of this score? It is public domain, after all. After this training, I may be able to apply for an editorial position with Boosey & Hawkes, or conduct the New York Philharmonic.

OK, Noteflight beat me. I can no longer read music. If I looked at a piece by seven-year-old Mozart, it would sound like Led Zeppelin to me. Noteflight is awful. Offal sounds like Awful, and Offal is another word for s*&#

I think a Noteflight administrator fixed my ending for me.

And of course offal isn't scraggy but meat by-products, but close enough. My mind is fried.

So, two movements done, and I'm at least thinking of the third. Maybe a Brahmsian A Minor melody with a quirky harmonization, rondo-sonata with a big fugue for a development? That sounds right up my alley!😀 Melody...🤔

Hazards of editing: in the second movement, I meant to repeat the whole A section, which is aba within itself, but forgot the ba!☹️Had to paste it in...nine minute movement with repeats, I think...

I had the thought in the shower, that I can't have the last movement ending triumphantly in A Major, since the first movement did that. Too much harmonic symmetry! Will have to be a tragically austere A Minor final cadence.

THIRD MOVEMENT!!! Just kidding; this doesn't make the cut! I wrote a little joke piece this morning. Maybe to keep myself from writing the third movement!

4/12-That's like 200 views just today; THANK YOU! I have an idea for the first theme of the third movement, which should be a Neo-Brahmsian thing in A Minor. I'm taking my time because at least some people seem to like this sonata so far, myself included, and I don't want to fudge up in the homestretch.

Exposition of Rondo-Sonata in Ragtime form, AABBACCDD. Melody/leading line only, and now I need CCDD theme! Development will start with a fugal exposition; hackneyed, I know, but I like such indulgences...that's going to be three minutes of the beginnings of music, and the CCDD themes should be about 1'30" giving me 4.5 to five minutes for the exposition, aiming at 9'00" like the other movements.
