Piano Improvisation/Question about composing

I’d appreciate any feedback on my improvisation.

Also I’ve never composed a piece before how would I go about that? Do you guys record your improvisations and try to transcribe segments from them when they seem useful?

I do record a lot of my improvisations. And I also do use them as a base for some of my pieces, yeah. That, or the other way around!

I do not think there's a single fixed way to approach composition, but some may be more feasible than others depending on your background.

The recording is a bit muffled. Audio quality can be helpful when you come back to a past segment you improvised, talking from experience here. The first part sounds a bit like a waltz, then you start accelerating or rushing... And there's not much more I can add, sorry.

Ah I see I might try using that method then. I think the recording sounds bad because it was recorded on a phone and the piano is not in great shape.
