"A Wistful Waltz in Cheerful A Major,"

I’ve named this piece "A Wistful Waltz in Cheerful A Major." Perhaps you could offer some advice on how to improve it.

I think first some of the harmony are not matching with the melody, for example the last 2 beats of b.18-21. B.22-25's last 2 beats are better because there are resolutions to the suspension in the 3rd beat.

Another aspect is variation. I think you can definitely add a contrasting section in a different key in the middle, since here it's predominiantly A major with not so much harmonic and modal contrast.

Thx for sharing.

Hi Henry:

I don't understand why it says E-E there; it used to say E-D. Maybe I'm just being sloppy, but I really appreciate you noticing that just by listening. As a self-taught musician, I "really rely on that kind of help—and just you wait: one day I'll be world-famous, and you can brag about having been my teacher. 😀Thanks.
