August 28Aug 28 HiIn a piece for soloist and orchestra in a section with a repeat, is there a common / accepted way to show that the soloist plays solo the first time through and then the orchestra joins on the repeat? Or do you have to just write it all out without a repeat and let the orchestra come in as notated?

I think you should just write a piano part and then no repeat, but actually just the orchestra playing the material together after a few bars. -TristanTheTristan
