Scenes from childhood...

In no way related to Schuman's work...

I'm working on short, semi-romantic pieces for piano with the purpose of depicting scenes from childhood. They're kind of meh, but I thought i'd share- the first one is entitled ''a scene from the forest''.

I'm working on the second one.. It's a wonderfull excersize in whole tone scales :P

Very nice - would sit well in collection of pieces for the young. Has a simple but elegant theme, an interesting middle variation and good return at the end.

Do I sense a slight Hamauzuian influence? :)

You may want to think about the sudden transitions between triadic and quartal harmony. Some people may find these a little jarring. I didn't, and arguably it's what lends the pieces its character (plus it gives some sections a semi Far-Eastern feel), just something to think about.

Other than that, not much else I can think of to say. Nice work. I look forward to hearing the rest.
