Costructive Criticism?!?

Hey everybody! I'm new here, just this morning in fact, and I was looking for some advice. I am a junior in high school and I needed a piece of music to go along with my duet for contest. I couldn't find a piece short enough that was challenging, so I wrote my own. Please listen to it and give some feedback as to how I can make it better (aka more challenging w/o it being just all 16th notes:D ). Thanks!

Its good to see ya here. Welcome. I'd say try to give advice on other peoples peices here too if you expect alot of people to look at it. Sadly people skip over things here.

1.Is it a prelude to the duet? OR Is it part of the duet and then whats the other instrument? I'm a little bit confused.

2. How long do you want it?

3. Alas I don't play key board but, maybe a higher register? Add some artistic grace notes? Try to make it as artistic/dramatic as possible? Try and add tempo changes?

I think its just fine if this is the length you want it but, I notice that people who play classical instruments don't get into it much. Try and move with the music. Let it be dramatic. When soloing have CONFIDENCE, but not an overly large ego. Soloing is much like public speaking. Alot of it is how you do it. Not what your doing.

Just giving my personal insights, good luck and let me know how the contest went. By the way when is it?

Thanks, and sry for the little information...:)

1. It is a POSTlude to my duet

2. Just about now, give or take 30 seconds.

3. This is not for keyboard ( I would die) this is for my voice and my duet-ee's voice...and I don't know WHERE to add grace notes...I feel so inept.

The contest is in april, i think. maybe late march. I will keep you posted and thanks for the help!
