November 22, 200520 yr My main observation was that you added too much too early. Those big loud chords in the bass came in quite suddenly. It would have been far more effective to build up gradually to them, in my opinion, and also make the piece a little more longer and more subtle. Overall it kind of sounds like it's in a bit of a rush. I liked your ideas starting at bar 35 with the syncopated rhythms, though. If you have the facility then consider adding in some pedal as well.
December 18, 200520 yr I must confess I wasn't sure where the piece was going at all until the more jazzy elements came in. You've got some real nice jazz twists to the melodic lines as they sort of weave drunkenly back and forth (that's a compliment by the way :) ). But the stuff in the early measures has me scratching my head.
