    My first post here-- thanks so much for all the great resources! Can anyone tell me which instruments an oboist can double on? Writing for small ensemble and would like to choose instruments that have useful doubles.

    Anyone have any thoughts on resources re: where to begin with the actual writing part of common practice composition? Have been looking everywhere for a graded exercise book for composition, or even an overview of which genres/forms/pieces to start with. Thanks!
