  1. first link: some of the stuff was pretty cool... some sounded like parts of christmas songs... some of it was just a bit to dissonant (some dissonance is good if it's trying to be, but it your dissonance didnt sound like it fitted) altered: that was pretty cool. some things you need to notice is the note selection on the sax solo. when you go astray from the main scale you were using, you don't want it to stick out (i.e. hold out a note that just doesn't fit), but you can use weird selections in runs cool syncopation on the solo though.
  2. that's cool as hell man woot.
  3. maybe it'd go good with a swingy feel in a jazz band/ large combo of some sort. groovy man. here's something: when I heard that quick sax riff on the turnaround I expected a solo or change... but it didnt go anywhere.. maybe you should hold that out. cool song man
  4. the thing that sets it apart from smooth jazz is that it isn't really smooth... it's more spazzy and empty at parts. but that's what makes it funky and cool nice goin.
  5. haha monk is winner. I made a thing on my keyboard dedicated to how weird monk is (but i think im a bit weirder when it comes to improv)
  6. Oh except dusk... I have plans for dusk... and sorry for not really ending it (lol I forgot I was working on it) here are like 10 more of them :P Funkthief.mid holyshazbotness.mid hump it.mid funk song 1.mid hey manthe cool.mid POODLES SEEEP.mid SLOW FFFDOG.mid
  7. I can never seem to get to far into making a song without dropping an ending on it. Most of my ideas don't go anywhere when I'm just hand-writing... and these are a lot of them, save the ideas I like the best and don't feel like sharing before I expand on them. Feel free to edit them as you want and send back or whatever... these are throwaway songs pretty much anyway. dusk.mid joytothe.mid camry luv it.mid Effed up Exploration.mid fooka.mid mad donkey rockzors.mid HOT ROCK!.mid
  8. haha that was great! im gunna post some music like this once i figure out how to get my piano to work with my computer
  9. -.- INTENSE BAND.mid
  10. I'm hopin' we use it. It's really simple; my friend Sam wrote the drums part. The um... toms may sound a little loud towards the end. You might want to turn them down ... And again, it's short, but it's a stand tune so I tried to make it as short as possible.
  11. yeap most of my crap is a little half assed.
  12. yeah about the piano solo: i wanted to comp the piano underneath but I'm not real great at writing a comp in 11/8 (lol). i wrote the drums out with anvil studio because it has this piano roll thing that makes it easier to write in weird time signatures thanks for the feedback guys
  13. ...that was pretty funny. good though anyway not sure u want it that fast though... then again i might have to hear it sung to know for sure good luck
  14. And excuse the cadenza for being retarded (I made it in like 5 seconds lol) (blues scale ftw!).
