my lecturer told me different to that when writing seperate dynamics. he said above the right and and below the left.

Hi, this is a little embarassing, because i really should know. i'm confusing myself writing a piece for piano and cello. was just wondering where the pedal markings go, in between the staves, or underneath the left hand? same applies for dynamics for both hands. i know that if i want seperate dynamics for each hand then they should both be outside the staves, but dynamics for both; does it go underneath the staves or in between?
