  1. Hi everyone. I've recently become interested in writing for piano, so I tried my hand at writing a contemporary piece for 2 pianists. I've called it Spring (for some reason). This is only the first section and I was simply posting it here, for some critique and maybe some advice on where to take it. I was thinking a theme/variations sorta thing. It's not GREAT (yet), but I am pretty pleased with the way things are turning out. The score's a total mess at the moment, so ignore that. It probably needs a more distinct melody and it is quite repetitive (a la Phillip Glass). Thanks Spring-2pianos.pdf Spring.mid
  2. This is a style that has intrigued me ever since I first became obsessed with this funny thing called Jazz. I write a lot of Jazz. Mostly trad. jazz and Chicago n cool jazz, but this is something I have always wanted to try. How do I go about it? Any tips? How do the chord sequences work in this style? What is common instrumentation? I particularly like the stylings of the band Weather Report and would like to write some Jazz/Funk/Disco/Synth stuff. Any help would be appreciated.
  3. Is this happening? I'd love to get involved. Orchestrations?
