  1. Thanks! So should I just focus mostly on expanding my ideas and honing my skills in general, or are there any specific areas that are weak points that I should focus on? And @ Fredrik. Haha... think I should contact ol' Sid about the inevitable Civilization V? :P
  2. It would have been nice to have a score to read along with, but anyways... I have only so far had time to listen to the first piece (the symphonic performance of it). It's a really, really nice piece. Beautiful melodies and harmonies.... a really emotional piece. I also especially loved the use of varying styles to contrast from one another. You did a great job with that one. Also, nice job conducting! And I envy you... being able to work with an orchestra.... it must be amazing. Keep up the great work! EDIT: I had time to listen to the capriccio piece, as well, and absolutely loved it! Very nice use of the cello. Being a cellist, I really appreciated the way you used it so expressively... nice job!
  3. This is becoming (is) a really nice piece! Rather neat that you were able to remember a melody from a dream. As said before, keep dreaming!
  4. Hello. I'm a student (going to be a sophomore in high school after this summer) and have been messing around with composing a bit (a lot, actually, as of late), and was really hoping to get some feedback on my work. I'm posting some of my work for orchestra from the last couple of months, and, if you have the time, I would be much obliged if you could take a look and tell me what you think... give me suggestions as to what to work on, etc. If you don't have time/don't want to look at them all, I'd say that the three that are probably my best of the set are the Rondo, the 2/4 piece in Bb Major, and possibly 'Returning'. Of course, the 3/4 Bb major piece is another one that I rather like... as is the 3/4 G major, though not so much.... Heck, just take your pick, listen to it/look at the score, and give me some feedback if you have the time. Thanks! Also, if you want the finale files, I have them as well. Anyhow, here they are. (note that the MP3s are rather lousy beefed up MIDIs... they sound rather... robotic... not to mention that they goofed up the dynamics rather miserably in spots) Edit: The piece that I would really like looked at is the Rondo, as it is my most recent piece. Rondo MP3 Rondo Score (note that the Rondo piece is not a complete work: I am yet to work in any dynamics. However, I do consider it my best effort to date at an orchestral work) 2/4 Bb Major MP3 2/4 Bb Major Score 3/4 Bb Major MP3 3/4 Bb Major Score Returning MP3 Returning Score 3/4 G Major MP3 3/4 G Major Score Thanks in advance to anybody who reads this, more thanks to anyone who listens to/looks at anything, and even more thanks to anyone who criticizes!
