  1. Thank you, Brandon. It is meant to be simplistic, written for a mediocre high school orchestra (which happens to have an amazing concertmaster.)
  2. I'm using Finale 2009b with Garritan orchestra sound library. Is it possible with this setup to double up on instruments in a single stave like if i have an oboe player doubling on cor anglais, and i want him to play a cor anglais solo in the middle of the oboe line..? I'm sure I could just manually mark it as a cor anglais solo and write the notes, but is it possible for finale to recognize this and for playback function to be affected?
  3. thanks for input! i'm currently working with the soloist on putting in bowings and other phrasing, especially for the solo part. i did not want to do too much of that stuff without his input. as for the (2+3+3)/8, i originally wrote that entire part in 15/8 but my orchestra director suggested splitting it up into this signature for improved readability, so i followed his suggestion.
  4. Hi, this is my first post and I am really excited to be a part of the community. I have very recently taken interest in music composition and this is the first piece that I finished, a small violin concertino to play with my high school string orchestra. Thanks for feedback! mp3 file Violin Concerto in Gm.pdf
