  1. Thank you for the positive feedback! I think I signed up for an account a year ago but I don't believe I ever actually posted anything so I'm new as an active member haha. I have considered that too, how I tend to keep only a few players at a time going, but I'm not really sure how to fix it without cluttering things. *shrugs*
  2. I really like this. As others have said, it has really captured your frustration, but at the same time I feel like I'm picking up on a certain wit. I think my favorite part is either those single notes banging out the rhythm in the right hand or those really dense chords that have a few changing notes that create a really interesting melody. And I for one am a fan of unstructured, freeform music, I think it is the most expressive. I'm not the best at piano either but I may give this a try
  3. This is really stunning. The instruments have such a dark, beautiful sound and the piece really highlights that I think.
  4. I've written things this way and it does produce disastrous score files. This is very interesting to listen to though

I am new here! This is my latest, finally finished piece. It's called "Edna" as a reference to Kate Chopin's The Awakening, which this piece reminded me of once it was finished. I also have some notes added in the score a la Erik Satie. I don't know if it's any good or if it really belongs here in this category but I didn't feel sure about where to put it and "Other" seemed as good a place as any. Comments would be really, really, really appreciated. breath.MUS breath.MID
  6. I wrote this several days ago. All in all it probably took around 2 hours to complete. Structure is basically ABAB. In the morning, when I began the piece, I was thinking about water, hence the repeated chords, but then the day was very emotional for me and I realized it was love I was expressing as I finished it. I didn't have the cello part at all originally but when I sat down to look at it at night I realized it needed something and that was it. I love writing duets like that. I didn't really use any "techniques" because I'm still pretty much a beginner and entirely self-"taught". water, love.MUS
