Franz Liszt - Transcendental Etude no.4 "Mazeppa"
Well, there are no recordings of him. I would just really want to hear him play live, or be one of his pupils. That would be awesome.

And your favorite Beethoven Symphony is?
The fifth of course.

Franz Liszt - Transcendental Etude no.4 "Mazeppa"
Yeah I have listened to one, or two of those. Very similar to Liszt's piano style therefor I like Lyapunov. And yeah I like No.4 8 and 11, got them all on my cell phone. However my top three of the etudes are : No.4 No.10 No.12

I need inspiration, from a painting, poem...
And you know this, because? If I see a painting, if it's dramatic or not, full of life or not, I know what music would fit into it, or in this occasion -- Composing something related.

The beginning of Liszt's Douze Grande Etude No.8
Well, not really. I do enjoy a few pieces by other composers (such as Prokofiev's Toccata in D minor, Rachmaninoff's Prelude 23 5, et cetera) but Liszt is the only composer that I enjoy every single piece of.

I need inspiration, from a painting, poem...
Hey, as I am a huge fan of Franz Liszt, who based many symphonies and piano pieces by other works of art such as poems and paintings. I want a painting, a poem or something related, and compose a piano piece based on this. What I don't want is - Blocky paintings (such as Picasso) and related. I don't want anything modern I would like to go with something rather old unless you got something really neat to show. Thank you in advance.

Franz Liszt - Transcendental Etude no.4 "Mazeppa"
This, Is one of the greatest pieces of music ever. At least in my opinion. This piece, while being an etude, is yet very musical - The piece is supposedly to be based on Victor Hugo's poem "Mazeppa", about Ivan Mazeppa who gets tied onto a horse and letting it run wildly. The melody is accompanied by leaps in the middle of the keyboard, making the illusion of a horse galloping. This is by god the greatest piece of music ever and you MUST listen to it. Here's a good video. Enjoy, and tell me what you think.

The beginning of Liszt's Douze Grande Etude No.8
So I've been having a lot of problems with the beginning of Liszt's Douze Grandes Etude No.8, anyone ever experienced this piece, could help me? I don't think I need to explain the problem, anyone who tried playing it would probably know.

Liszt's Transcendental Studies no.4, "horse leaps"
Yeah I know it prevents legato. The fingering Liszt wants is annoying to learn, but simpler I guess. Okay, thanks anyway.

Liszt's Transcendental Studies no.4, "horse leaps"
According to the wiki and sheets you should play them by using your index and 4th finger, but it hinders speed -- I'd rather have it more speedy than what I have right now. Any suggestions?

What is currently your favorite piece of music?
My favorite piece of music right now, and of all time is Liszt's Transcendental Etude no.4 "Mazeppa". In my opinion, it's one of the most underrated pieces of music ever. It's very artistic, Liszt making leaps over the keyboard making the illusion of a horse galloping. The melody made by octaves is very nice as well, Berezovsky and Fredy Kempf or Lazar Berman plays it the best I think. Check it out :
