  1. Best way to notate random arpeggiation between strings?

    Hello, new member here, though I've been a lurker on and off for some time. Came across a bit of a conundrum, and useful information is hard to come by.. What is the best way to notate random arpeggios for strings in which the player should randomly arpeggiate between the four strings? Somewhere in the back of my mind I vaguely recall there may have been a more or less established symbol for this (possibly one of Penderecki's), but I can't for the life of me find it again.. Thanks in advance, JohnA
