Anyone know how to get their hands on some sulfur hexafluoride?
the way i understand it, SF6 does alter the pitch, on the principle that the air resonating is heavier than typical earth air.

Anyone know how to get their hands on some sulfur hexafluoride?
i just had to read this the week after my chem semester ended that's fine; it'd still be useful for voice acting and such.

At the risk of sounding totally reckless, I was reading the Wikipedia article on extended vocal technique when it mentioned helium, which artificially raises the frequency of one's voice, and sulfur hexafluoride, which will lower it. I'm not planning on using it myself (this second anyway), but it sounds really neat -- are there any popular pieces which demand that a vocalist inhale some SF6? (I realize that this is the most "college-kid" post ever)

Sound libraries: Which one to use?
reaper functions as a 'free' daw, i think the only restriction on the demo is a nag screen on bootup. even then it's really cheap at $60

Sound libraries: Which one to use?
there's a free, non-trial edition of ewql out there somewhere. they were offering it for a limited time about a year ago for completing a survey, but i don't think that's still around.

Alto Sax extended technique
And by that I mostly mean Zorn technique. Where can I learn about how to make the kinds of sounds that Zorn does? All I've really been able to figure out on my own is to bite the reed, or overblow it.
