    Egonomics

There was a few parts in this which I really liked but on the whole I think it had too much silence (It's sort of late and people are sleeping here, so it's possible my volume was a bit too low to hear anything) I will have a re-listen tomorrow!
  2. ZING! my ego! Thanks for critiquing, I don't think I'll be making it longer, as I'm the sort of dude who can't go back to something once he sees it as finished. Though I would probably agree with you in the lack of counter point, I usually manage to get some in there but this song seemed to have missed out.

  4. Perhaps I have too huge of an ego, but it is a pretty cool song anyhow, perhaps a little short, but that is only because of what it was intended for. Midi sequencing done in Guitar Pro and then imported over to FL Studio 7 where I used the Edirol Orchestral VST to get the sounds. Enjoy! 5. O man this aggressive song is getting me so pumped, I just wanna kick some dudes in the face or drive real fast in my ute. Though it badly needs some better mixin' like others have said. My first FL songs all went into the red too, though they weren't as good as this one, it just seems weird that for such a neat song you've overlooked something like that. O snap this elektro arabian is pretty much the same deal as the first only it reminds me of the desert levels in arcade games. The kind where you make funny faces while bobbing your head and kicking the donkey belonging to the bad dudes. O snap there was a transition that was pretty terrible but the individual parts were good, just the transition sucked. this Nuit song is not as awesome and also I'm not seeing a whole lot of variety as I go by, mix some stuff up like use some notes you don't usually use, perhaps D, D is a good note dude. also that was meant in regards to all your music not just this track, you need to break out of your style a bit more and get a bit loosey goosey, although not necessary it is good to do different things every now and again and experiment with your music. Also this brass isn't so hot, you might want to look into getting an orchestral plugin like edirol orchestra if you're going to be doing alot of brass in the future. There is also a bit too much reverb on your plucking synth there. Overall you have much talent, just watch your levels, learn to compress stuff, and watch out that you don't fall into a huge gaping hole of similarity. O btw the second half of that nuit song kicks hell of donkey though the very last little plucked arpeggio could have gone on for a bit longer, perhaps an entire quiet little section of only plucking

    TURTLE

It reminds me of the 80's, which isn't necessarily a good thing... I am also having a bit of trouble tryin' to remain interested : / Sorry but I aint a huge fan. Though on the technical side of things you've done a decent job producing it, I can't really fault anything on that side of things.

I cant really imagine a piece of music that would fit the meaning behind this better, I've never heard this "DIFFERENT TRAINZZZZ?" so I can't compare the two or anything but I do like this song, and I usually am not a minimalism fan, so hats off to that.

    Music I've made

Bread: For someone who is new to music you are making me envious ): I wish I could write brass like this. My only complaint is that sometimes a few parts are left unresolved, this is probably what feels off about it. On the whole I really enjoyed it though. Musacbaxx: Pretty neat little track though it doesn't stand out too much. No_: The guitar (I think?) was a bit loud in the mix but either way this would have to be my favourite track the choir and the bass really do it for me.
  9. though when it first began I had my doubts, I actually ended up enjoying it, the part around 3:40 was awesome. It's not often you hear a program like fruity loops being used like this which is sort of neat since I'm a fruity loops user myself. Good job.
  10. Added the link, to the first post. My music teacher said the same thing, I was considering cutting down the length a bit. But I'm not quite sure how I'd go about that. I may have to start from scratch and just use the same melody. Also the reason it's fairly consistent is because my music usually changes too often, so I wanted to do something nice for mum, but I guess I ended up going to the other extreme and made it too repetitive. Thanks for the input guys, I'll see how I go. edit: Actually scrap that, I'm going to change the main theme in the parts that it repeats, just enough to keep it interesting.
  11. Frank Zappa would have to be my all time favourite composer. I suck at explaining things, so I will be brief. He wrote in a ridiculous amount of different styles, not only being a really talented rock and roll writer, but able to compose for orchestra as well. A pretty neat guitarist, and even admirable for his work in politics. He's influenced me a whole lot, and when I think I've had enough of Zappa, I find a whole other side of him I hadn't heard before, he wrote a musical, made two movies, and wrote some of the catchiest riffs and lyrics I've ever heard. In short the man was (imo) a genius. I was going list a few songs I liked but decided there was too many.

  13. I am uploading the .mp3 now. Though isn't it possible to just play the .mid with windows media player, or whatever program you use?
  14. It's a nice enough piece of music, but goes nowhere (not sure if that was the intention) I think stretching it out would help a lot. As well as adding in some sort of ending.
  15. My mums birthday is coming up soon, and so as any other starving musician would have done, I wrote her a song. This is the first time I've tried writing anything like this, so I'd like some feedback and suggestions on how to improve it. Also the end part is where the song is going to become more electronic, and hopefully contain vocals, just in case you were wondering why I had drums. soundclickzzzzzz SoundClick MP3: Evaworcim - Band page with free MP3 music downloads on SoundClick sang for mam.mid

Yes, and while I'm not very competent at writing for orchestra, I might have a go at this as well.

There's a trick here, the trick is there's a trick. We must post orchestral silliness! When was the last time someone posted an avant-garde symphony? Also: in response to the music. Pretty much what other people have said, it's not my bag, but I think you did a good job of it, very spacey and chill.
  18. I found the entire experience to be a lot more enjoyable when I turned the tempo up to 400. I think the peice would work a lot better if it were a bit condensed, although I guess that would blow the sleep aspect. :/

    first song

(Tell me if I'm wrong, but) it seems you wanted to make something which goes from a kind of moody angry kind of a thing, and then resolve into a nice happy kind of a thing. If this is the case you did a wonderful job, I wasn't too sure about some of the earlier bass, but that got nicer nearer the end. The drums were also really well done, although sounded a little lo-fi. You've definitely done well for yourself for a first song.
  20. I checked this out, and I think this atonal stuff is growing on me. I especially like from bar 94 - onwards. I am curious as to how you go about improvising this, do you actually think about each note as you play it? (that isn't meant to be as mean as it sounds.) or do you just kind of play wherever your fingers go?

    Megsy, my cat.

Any suggestions for where i can upload?
  23. Nice, what keyboard are you getting? out of curiosity.
  24. A fellow fruity loops user I see, although the fact that I can tell you used fruity loops right off the bat is not nessesarily a good thing. Your music is not half bad I quite enjoyed triberteky, but your notes all sound slightly off time, especially the 3xosc, your drums may need a little work, I understand you're going for a techno feel, but a constant bass drum isn't always nessesary. On to your sounds, you may want to look into some VST plugins, currently you (seem to be) working with the same synths and drum sounds which can get a bit boring, check around on the internet there is loads of free vst plugins, some are better than others, but hey they're free. And finally; your songs are nice, but short. Work on building the length you move onto new musical ideas rather quickly, try repeating your phrases more, and variate the drums or something to keep it interesting. Do not make it too repetitive though. Also you should always continue to create music, even if you suck now you can only get better, give it a bit of time, and stop using so many default fruity loops sounds.
  25. I just read my post, and feel stupid, I said "I definitely didn't mind it as much" twice,:o oh well. I definitely didn't mind it as much.
