Lend me your suggestions for the sub-genre and the music form, if you like.Nächte - Nights Nächte

That was just my mood when I wrote this piece. I felt that there were so many things people do in order to compensate for this lack of a surrounding that let's them feel that they belong somewhere, but you can consider this the talk of someone being overly emotional at times. And yeah, I admit that it sounds a bit too bright for this explanation, yet with a tiny bit of subtle melancholy, don't you think?

I'll gather the tracks of this thread soon. Let's hope everyone's still around...

Well, as providing screenshots isn't really that much work... I have no clue what you might expect, but this is what it actually really looks like ;] This is what the single player looks like, largest grid size: This would be the Local Versus, smallest grid size:

Let's hope you're eager to see it :] We're as good as finished, i will have a playable beta by tomorrow and if everything is alright, then I will share it by the start of the new week. I'm sorry I came up with the empty promise that you will see screenshots or a video, but the process itself had topmost priority and I'm happy with the outcome.

Hellolo! Some of you might have noticed that we have established a small forum with our last update. As stated in the forum our 0.9 release is soon to be expected. We mainly focused on getting those last changes done so that our basic shape is more or less finished. From 0.9 to 1.0 release there's a list of minor changes that is yet to be performed. That includes implementation of background music, so I will soon pick the tracks that will make it into the final game, but 0.9 has currently priority ;] That basically means that you will soon have a playable version of Plussion - not a perfectly balanced one, to say the least, but the rough shape will be there for everyone who likes to enjoy it. As soon as the 0.9 is finished it shouldn't really take long until 1.0... Here's the forum, if you feel like talking ;] http://athurm.obscurus-caligo.de/phpBB3/index.php We didn't really promote that a lot, so don't expect too much activity before 0.9 release. Talk to you soon!

Hello YC, it's been a while ;] I am now an official member of Magnatune. Although I have only uploaded one single track here I want to point towards my album, which can be heard entirely, if you follow this link: http://magnatune.com/artists/albums/tuskle-piano/ Unfortunately, there is no "major works" section here any longer, since I actually am submitting works of about ~45min. I chose Progredium III as the track to be uploaded here on YC since I consider it the peak of the album compositional-wise... If you want the full ~9 min of the Progredium, feel encouraged to listen to Progredium I&II on my album page. You do not need to have an account in order to listen, although you wouldn't be bothered by listening to the announcements after each track. If you want any further description, then you might want to refer to the album description. Nuff said, hope you enjoy listening! Tuskle Piano Works [Full Album]

Whew... ... we had a considerable amount of difficulties of all kinds during the last month, but we're not resigning yet. Besides motivation downs and things like that we had to re-structure the majority of the code. That is one awful lot of work, if you know what I mean. During the last weekend we could finally pick up previous tasks again. Also we've shortened the content of the VS game mode by quite a bit, so that we can be more confident about the completion of the whole thing... Game development sounds so enticing at first, but people keep telling you that it's not just a cakewalk. I kind a experienced what they were all talking about ;] Talk to you soon

The synths - I would consider my synth work Tuskle-ism. I have never heard of other artists that use similar techniques. The album this track will appear on is called Viva Synthetica. Thanks for your attention

Extensive work with software synthesizers. The technique I use in order to create sounds like that could be called multi layer chord shifting with dynamic filter states.Or you might as well consider it Caffeinism...190BPM Lightbender

Thanks, guys. Well, that track was composed in only little time right between 2 other tracks which are much more extensive. I think I will leave Pearl as it is now, but there's a good chance that I pick up that kind of atmosphere in one of my upcoming compositions. I think I will upload that other works I mentioned now - see you in the electronic thread ;]

A short piece fully created with freeware soundfonts. Drums were an experiment. Pearl

Oh, I am open for submissions until we release a 1.0 version of the game. In beta I will take the time and list every single submission in one post and I will declare the winners then. I lost the overview during the last month, so I can't really tell whether there are going to be a lot winners or not. Yesterday we have created our blog - there's not much to be seen here, but you will definitely find at least one video that shows some footage soon ;] http://coax-studios.blogspot.com/ Hope we can make that blog look better soon :/

Just wanted to let you know, that we're back on track. The game is running and we have fixed mostly every issue that caused trouble. The end of the development process is coming near. We're currently working at the network, so that online gaming will work. Current version is 0.7, so we will have our beta (0.9) pretty soon and I will then be able to spend more time to listen to all the tracks that have been uploaded ;]

Hi everyone. Thank you for all your submissions so far. Actually the game itself started to look better with every hour spent, but unfortunately something affected the whole development process in a very negative way: Two days ago my computer refused to boot, so I had to completely renew the windows installation. That alone was no problem at all, though it was a lot of work due to all those back-ups. However, at this moment I am not able to execute the game.exe anymore and we have been digging around for several hours now so that we can locate the problem. I am working together with a very skilled guy who actually was able to solve all kinds of problems that have occured previously without even a bit of my influence, but this time it looks much different. We even managed to find some guy that posted a thread with the very same problem - his post is yet to be answered... There will not be any progress at all, unless we manage to fix this issue...

Nothing to worry about. My side projects started to consume more of my time than usual, so I fell back a little. @ Sabiansoldier By the way, it's not a flash game. Players will have to download and install the game.

Development was looking pretty good until two weeks ago. Now we have a short break before we can continue and I think I should be able to share some screenshots or a video about the game within its current state soon. The estimated time of the remaining development is very hard to tell, but we have already done quite a bit.

Dankeschön! No, I don't have a score for this one and at this time it doesn't look like I'm going to create one. Sorry for that, I can only show you a bunch of green bars in a simple matrix.

no, I don't really want to connect this piece to a poem or anything like that anymore. It's just the piece as it is now.
-
Now that some time has passed since I composed this piece I must say that I'm not too happy with the overall result. The composition itself comes with lots of different ideas, but although I think they fit together pretty good I think there is some kind of ambiguity concerning the interpretation of mine - just as you mentioned. The title seems very strange to me now, too, and some passages are a bit too static for my taste - too many straight build-ups without a progressing statement, which caused the need for contrasty changes. I think the best parts are right at the beginning. Also that transition around 2:55 bothers me quite a lot...

Nice, indeed. Yup, that's true

No problem with midi. BDW, as I said before, I think one of them might be good for a menu, but generally I get the feeling that you did not care too much about my style demands. I also think that your "I slept" has much more potential as a common composition, if you tackle it from this side, but I couldn't really think of a suitable background in a game.

Thanks, Doovon. Which one, BDW?
